Location
Khwai River Lodge is situated on the edge of a fig tree forest, overlooking the vast Khwai River floodplains and into the depths of the Moremi Wildlife Reserve.
The area is renowned for its large concentrations of game and it is not uncommon to see many different types of wildlife from the private deck of your chalet. As a year round destination for wildlife, predators can regularly be seen in the area, rated as one of the most prolific in Botswana for viewing wildlife. The exceptional location of Khwai makes it a regular host to Elephant, Buffalo, Lion, Leopard, Cheetah and Wild Dogs. Birdlife can also be viewed in abundance with exceptional sightings of wildfowl and raptors near the lodge.
Accommodation
Khwai River Lodge is designed to blend subtley into the surrounding environment.
All ensuite tents are housed on raised wooden decks, offering beautiful views, and shaded by a thatched roof. The private decks are furnished with comfortable chairs and a hammock, ideal for enjoying a romantic dinner in complete privacy.
The en suite tents have a fully stocked mini bar, a four poster bed with mosquito netting, as well as a discreetly installed air conditioning.
For your peace of mind safes are provided for the safekeeping of all cash, travel documents and other such articles.
Activities
Safari activities at Khwai River Lodge include morning and afternoon game drive safaris in open vehicles. At night spotlight game drive safaris are conducted and star gazing presentations are also offered.
A cultural visit to a local village can be arranged, as well as guided safari walks along the Khwai River by the experieced guides at the camp. The camp is also equipped with a hide overlooking the Khwai River floodplains. A swimming pool as well as a gym and spa facility is available for the guests.
