Location
The Xugana Island Lodge gives guests a secluded African getaway on the Xugana Lagoon, which is a magical permanent water site in the Okavango Delta. The area is wrapped with winding waterways which open up into tranquil lagoons. At the main living area guests will be able to make use of a magnificent open boma, where you can swap stories around the fire, and share a magnificent view over the permanent Delta with the outdoor dining area. The lounge, bar and dining areas peek out from under the Ebony and African Mangosteen tree canopy while the open sided thatched structures allow for maximum exposure to the stunning scenery. Guests will also be able to escape the heat of the sun with a dip in the swimming pool, or relax on the loungers while listening to the sounds of the wild African bush. The lodge can accommodate just 16 guests which allows for a more private and exclusive experience at this Botswana accommodation. Guests are housed in large raised reed and thatch chalets (Mesasas), each with their own private deck that allows you to gaze out over the lagoon. The chalets are luxuriously equipped with comfortable furniture and ceiling fans, while the en-suite facilities include a walk-in shower.
Safari Activities
Guests at this Botswana safari camp can expect a classic Okavango Delta safari. Explore the magnificent waterways by motorboat or Mokoro (a traditional canoe), or take walking safaris on the surrounding islands in concession. Xugana is also the ideal place to enjoy unforgettable bird watching, while fisherman can look forward to tangling with bream and tiger fish.
