About Inyati Game Lodge
Inyati is a little piece of heaven right here on planet Earth. To the local Shangaan people it is also the magnificent and powerful animal, the buffalo. Situated along the curving banks of the Sand River, Inyati is a place of delightful contrast, of brilliant, golden sunshine and cool, shady hideaways. Daily, the river gives of itself, generously nourishing the extensive wildlife and lush vegetation. At night African drums throb in rhythmic welcome as guests are called to the open air Boma to sample the unique cuisine and exquisite wines our Country is renowned for.
Accommodation at Inyati Game Lodge
Our spacious, luxurious chalets have been extensively refurbished, offering the discerning traveler exquisite accommodation. Inyati also boasts some superb facilities for you to enjoy outside the safari times. These include the curio shop, a small but well-equipped gymnasium, and a walk-in wine cellar well stocked with an excellent selection of South African wines.
Safaris at Inyati Game Lodge
Game drives are conducted in specially customized open Landrovers, providing our guests with quiet, state-of-the-art comfort and safety on safari. The Inyati African safari experience takes place over 10 000 hectares of unspoiled wilderness, and strict regulations are in place to minimize pressure on both the game and the habitat in our sector of the reserve. The morning safari departs at sunrise, and the evening drive leaves late enough in the afternoon for the guests to enjoy a bush sunset, and the opportunity to view nocturnal creatures after dark. A must for all nature enthusiasts is the bush walk (ie. foot safari). This affords guests the ultimate, close-to-the-wild experience, and a chance to focus on the smaller bush inhabitants including birds, insects and butterflies.
One can also discover the interesting world of trees, grasses, flowers, geology and ecology - of course, occasionally big game can be seen on walks - including the Big Five. Bush walks take place either just before or just after breakfast, depending on the time of year and prevailing weather conditions.
